Electric Center Sponsors Apprentice Awards
This prestigious award is now into its 10th year and the regional heats for Level 2 or 3 students took place at colleges across the UK in January and February. Winners of the 7 regional heats across England, Wales and Northern Ireland and the highest scoring runner-up then went forward into the 2-day Grand Final which took place on March 20th/21st.
The eventual winner was Ben Kidner, aged just 19 who works for Rogers Restorations Electrical in the South West and is in the third year of his apprenticeship, studying at Bridgewater Taunton college.
As a 'Gold' sponsor, Electric Center was particularly pleased to be so closely associated with sponsoring a competition that aims to encourage the next generation of electrical contractors and engineers. The company is also renewing its previous association with SPARKS as the company sponsored the ‘Energy Efficiency’ section of the Electrical apprentices ‘Essential Book’, which was produced by SPARKS, for many years from 2007.
Jeremy Harris Marketing manager for Electric Center commented:
‘Electric Center sees the Apprentice of the Year award as an excellent way of encouraging our next generation of electrical contractors to strive to be the very best they can be and we are also delighted to be working closely again with the team from SPARKS who provide such an excellent resource of knowledge and information for electrical students.’
